I'd try unplugging the TV for say seconds and then try plugging it back into the wall outlet or the receiver, then turn the TV back on. This kind of stuff does happen for example sometimes when I stream videos via the bluray player USB port and internal drive and the internal processor gets over worked bec I'am searching files too fast or push the remote buttons too quickly etc. The only way that the system will start to work again is I have to unplug the bluray player for a few seconds.

Hope that helps and best of luck. By the way if the TV is plugged out for too long it may reset to the factory default settings and if anybody made custom adjustments or changed the original out of the box settings the TV will go back to the original out of the box factory settings.

Note if the TV going back to factory default settings isn't a issue usually if you unplug the TV for a few mins or unplug the TV and hold down the power button on the TV for 30 seconds that will get it to reset to the factory settings and it should then fix your issue.

My Hisense remote will not turn TV on or off but it will allow channels to be changed. I have replaced batteries, still no result. Mine has been doing the same thing.

I'll be watching tv and sometimes fall asleep doing so and my cable box shuts off after 4hrs of no activity and then the tv will too after the box went to sleep. But it will be glowing black very rarely maybe twice it was just blue.

I unplugged it and plugged it back in and tried it again and works fine but it seems to be happening alot here lately. Answer Save. Favorite Answer. How do you think about the answers? You can sign in to vote the answer.

Meet the new Samsung smartphone! A few days ago the remote was used to power the TV up but it wouldn't get passed the start-up screen switching itself off then trying to restart reaching the same point and shutting down and restarting again, this just goes on and on.

Now the power is switched off as it won't start but when the power is switched on it automatically tries to start but fails every time as above. The TV is about 6 years old, in perfect condition, I'd like to keep it but only if it's going to cost a reasonable amount to sort out.

Could the problem be in the software or is it a power supply problem?

Say "hello! I wonder whether there is a software issue though the firmware is up-to-date. I have turned off the auto power off setting in case that may be part of the problem. Just to add for you and anyone else who read the OP, I wasn't able to control the TV at all when it was trying to start, I only saw the Smart TV splash screen for a brief moment before it shut itself down to try again to start, this was continually repeated.

I've read on the internet something similar and was termed 'boot loop'. For some reason, in my case, twice the TV has come out of this 'boot loop' and managed start successfully. After searching the internet, there are people with the same issue going back to the 90s. Clearly a design flaw. I have the same problem! You said you did more testing etc before it came right. Do you think anything you did had anything to do with it starting to work again?

Same problem on my Samsung UE40D Identically with the description given by Jim, the TV can not be controlled from remote or from the digital buttons. It is clear that this is a SW issue.Page of Go.

I did not realize owning a crap TV would ever become one of my possessions, after all its a Sharp, I thought Sharp had a good reputation. Bad on me! They cant issue a RA as there is a temporary fix until they repair the software, that temporary fix is get this, plug and unplug the TV I ask when is the firmware fix to be expected. We have to get the rest of these crap TVs sold before it becomes a big enough issue to do something about it. We can make more money selling crap TVsthan having to do returns.

Product or Service Mentioned: Sharp Tv. At least you now realize that buying a cheap in price, unreliable and cheaply-made telly is a waste of money. Dump the thing and buy a major brand for a few dollars more.

Stay away from Element, Vizio and most others sold at places like Walmart. Samsung may work, but Panasonic is still good among a few othersvery few.

Rating Details Customer service.I bought our 55 inch TV back in November and in February the TV would not turn on or off or let me use the channels for volume. I would have to get up and unplug the TV and plug it back in.

Related: Horrible experience with the brick. It happens four to five times a night. Since I had the warranty I called and they said they were aware of the issue but there was nothing they could do until they get the software completed. They had no idea when it would be available a week 2 weeks months who knows. I asked him for a refund because I had the warranty and they basically laughed at me.

And said no. Customer service is ungodly awful and the first guy I couldn't even understand so I had to call back again. I told him I was going to call the Better Business Bureau and again they told me go right ahead. Worst customer service I've ever had and I will never recommend this product to anyone. I did call the Walmart where I bought it from and let them know and they were very angry and upset that they would not exchange my TV.

They were going to go to their head office and Report the situation and distract customers from buying this TV.

Am I the only one to have problems with my Hisense TV?

Product or Service Mentioned: Hisense Tv. I'm having an issue with the TV freezing up. Called Hisense and was told it was a soft ware problem and they were working on it. I called again today with the same lip service they are working on it.

Very unhappy not sure what I can do to get this resolved. Stores like Walmart like to sell brands like HiSense, Element and others because they are cheap for customers to buy and they may be able to convince people to buy an "extended warranty" plan, which gives them more money.

The problem is that these brands are cheaply-made, unreliable, and have virtually no customer service to speak of. Throw the telly in the trash and go to a store that sells a major brand like Panasonic, etc. So I don't blame Walmart at all I blame the manufacturer.

Thread starter mogge66 Start date Apr 6, Tags lcd tv. This may be a one off in the UK although not in Australia it seemsbut our 32LB1DB has a tendency to crash so that it's unresponsive to remote and set buttons, and I wondered whether anyone else has experienced this. What's interesting is that since about mid March it's been reported widely that LG sets with digital tuners have been freezing in Australia, requiring engineers to visit 10's of thousands of homes over coming months to perform software updates.

This should be a different problem to the AU issue, but it seems that problems aren't just in AU. Would be interested to know if anyone else has had this happen, and whether a software update resolved it. When it does this none of the buttons on the remote or screen its self work and the input indicator stays stuck in the top right of the screen, the only way to get out of it is to switch of the power at the mains and back on again which very often takes several goes before the TV works again.

I phoned LG last week and it has been booked to be swapped over tomorrow but I am worried that this could be a problem that is going to come back after reading about all the Aussies with simular issues so would like to know if anyone else has had this issue and more importantly if anyone has had an answer to it?

Danbl - How long had you had your LG before Dixions replaced it? LG didn't swap mine today as promised so I think I will be going back to the retailer John Lewisbut as I've had it about 10 months I'm not sure they are going to want to do anything about it.

Just as another after thought, I wonder if all the issues listed below started around the same time as they did in OZ, Mine started randomly going wrong probally about a month a go but at first it was maybe once a week and I just ignored it but now its everytime I turn it on it locks first and has to be powered on and off a few times before it works.

Thanks for the replies. Just to give an update on this, the problem went away on mine after doing a full system reset to revert to factory settings, and it hasn't come back so far.

Hisense TV won't cut off with button on tv or remote.any suggestions?

LG booked a company to come and swap the main board, but as the problem seemed to go away I asked them not to replace it when they called a few weeks later to say that the board was in as I'd rather not have it taken to bits. The service agent also said that resetting fixes problems in most cases.

The problem first happened after I'd used it with a Mac and PC on the RGB input, which might be coincidence but it had been fine for a week prior. I've used it with a Mac again since resetting and it's not happened again though. So I'd recommend trying a full factory reset and perhaps that would resolve the issue for anyone else with this problem. I've also read about the issues with LG sets freezing in Australia. I recently had a similar problem with my LG set, although the controls on the set did respond, the remote did not.

In this case it appeared that my pratting about with a new upscaling DVD player caused the trouble. I've already posted on this within the forum. You must log in or register to reply here.
